In May 2015, Minnesota Street Project commissioned internationally renowned artist Catherine Wagner to photograph the transformation of 1275 Minnesota Street from an industrial warehouse into a cultural hub.
Wagner began by observing and recording the dismantling of the space. She constructed photographs and made transitory sculptures as the skeletal space became a structured environment throughout the year.
The photographs present ephemeral sculptural moments—temporal by nature— made from the detritus of the construction materials.
Wagner’s photographs from 1275 Minnesota Street examine transition presenting an archeology in reverse.
