Please join the JONES INSTITUTE for a conversation between artist Ruth Charlotte Kneass and writer Deborah Bishop. This event is in conjunction with Kneass' USEFUL THINGS, on view in Gallery 211 through August 27, 2022.

Ruth Charlotte Kneass's work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Curator's Cube, Tokyo, Japan; The Jones Institute, San Francisco, California; Small Trade Company, San Francisco, California; and, The Bolinas Gallery, Bolinas, California. In 2020, Kneass's massive mobile sculptures were paired with a collection of Pierre Jeanneret's furniture at Patrick Parrish Gallery, New York, New York. The artist's work can be found in private collections in Japan, France, Italy, Sweden and across the United States.

Based in San Francisco, Deborah Bishop is a writer and editor who frequently contributes to SalonDwellAmerican Craft, the San Francisco Chronicle, and more. She also is the author of Hello Midnight: An Insomniac's Literary Bedside Companion.
