The Painting Salon is a monthly lecture series aimed at fostering a dialogue about contemporary painting in the Bay Area. Each month, two artists present their work at a new art space, gallery or artist studio. With the nomadic venue and expanding roster of presenters, the Salon hopes to foster community by introducing new audiences to artists and artists to each other.
Guests are invited to contribute to the event through potluck offerings of drinks and snacks. The Salon is currently being curated by Bay Area artist Sarah Thibault.
The May Painting Salon will take place inside the Lounge at 1275 Minnesota St. with presentations from artists Jake Ziemann and Phillip Maisel.
