trầnsfiguration, curated by Việt Lê, is a multidisciplinary exhibition on spiritualities, sexualities, and healing that speaks to dominant art histories of figuration. On view in our main gallery from September 16, 2023, to December 16, 2024, the exhibition features works by artists living and working in Hà Nội, Việt Nam, and across the US: Nhung Đinh, Latipa, Jamie Maxtone-Graham, Corey Pickett, Đinh Thị Thắm Poong, and Faith Wilding and including video, photography, sculpture, painting, and installation.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of public programs taking place throughout the Bay Area under 500 Capp Street’s Shifting Possessions salon series, featuring Nhung Đinh, Janet Hoskins, Trịnh T. Minh-hà, Corey Pickett, Chairwoman Louise J. Miranda Ramirez, Frédéric Dialynas Sanchez, and Bin Vương, co-presented with Headlands Center for the Arts, California College of the Arts, and Slash. 500 Capp Street’s Shifting Possessions salon series is made possible with support from California Humanities, a non-profit partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities, with additional support from Teiger Foundation.
