The Jones Institute
MSP welcomes The Jones Instutute for a guest exhibition from their inaugural Emerging Artist Series, on view in Room 211.
Dan Bruinooge, a CalArts graduate was born and raised in Northern New Jersey and currently resides in Los Angeles, presents paintings and sculptures which unify photorealism and abstraction, romanticism and semiotics, the precious and the disposable; all the while treating his subjects, whether literal or abstract, with care and dignity. Good Taste is a provocation to reintroduce a program of aesthetic restraint and seriousness into contemporary painting discourse during a time of permissive visual culture. Bruinooge is also a drummer, pianist and composer, and has a solo album coming out next summer under the name Hot Wheels.
