The pervasive impact of the pandemic disrupted the presentation of SFAI's final graduate thesis exhibition in 2020, and The Deeper We Sunk in Dreams seeks to reclaim that lost moment, capturing and reflecting life's bittersweet, fragile, fleeting, and evanescent aspects. 

The exhibition features work by SFAI's 2020 cohort of graduate artists that have remained local to the Bay Area, including Blanca Bercial, Lexygius Sanchez Calip, Karl Daum, Christa Grenawalt, John James Hartford V, Whitney Humphreys, Katrina Magowan, Jeff Maylath, Shara Mays, Mareiwa Miller, Laura Pacchini, Evan Pettiglio, Collin Pollard, Rebecca Mae Sexton, Anna Sidana, Colin McEachran Smith, Miles Stemp, Lena Wright, and Jasmine Zhang.
