Rachelle Reichert

Rachelle Reichert creates drawings and objects with elemental materials depicting entropic processes. Through material investigation, resulting in formal and alchemical explorations, she connects these earthbound materials— such as graphite and salt— to human social dynamics and ecological concerns.

Select exhibitions include the German Consulate in New York City, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Galleria il Sotoportego in Venice, Italy, SFMOMA Artist Gallery, Southern Exposure and Mills College Art Museum. Reichert was awarded residencies at Planet Labs, Can Serrat in Spain, iHangar at the Palace of Fine Arts and grants from the Susan Pilner Money for Women Artist Fund and the Russek Foundation. Her work has been reviewed and published in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Sacramento Bee, The Point Magazine, Make Magazine and New American Paintings. She has received several public and private commissions including Red Bull, Inc. and the Boston University Medical School. She earned her MFA from Mills College in Oakland, CA and a BFA from Boston University.
