Minnesota Street Artist Studios / Makaan Residency

So Far. So Close. is artist Pantea Karimi's solo exhibition at the Staging Gallery at the Minnesota Street Project Foundation Studios (April 3–5, 2026), is the culminating showcase of the works developed during their Makaan Arts Residency.

This exhibition presents a video projection,  pixelated fire flat-sculpture installation, alongside prints on paper, as part of the artist's I Will Rise in Slow Accession project.

"Tension has always been part of my life since childhood, both so far and so close. During the residency, I found myself responding to the news of war and turmoil in my native country, Iran, where my family members are currently trapped and unable to leave. Images of smoke, fire, and charred keepsakes captured my attention and gradually seeped into my work..."

This exhibition also includes Sonic Shadows, a sound installation collaboration with Scott Kildall @bio.symphonic

Address: 1240 Minnesota Street, SF
April 4th or 5th, 2-5 pm.
